Abstract
In the present investigation, novel aromatic nanocomposite hydrogel containing indole-3- acetic acid has been reported. Citric acid, Diethyleneglycol and Indole-3- acetic acid based biopolymeric hydrogels were prepared by condensation polymerization. The stable and uniformly distributed silver nanoparticles have been obtained within the hydrogel network. The surface morphology of synthesized nanohydrogel has been characterized using scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX) analysis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The swelling studies have also been carried out for nanohydrogel at various pH (in the range of 3-9) solution. The nanocomposite hydrogels have also been examined for cytotoxicity effect. The results of the study indicated that the nanocomposite hydrogel may be recommended for eco-friendly biomedical applications.
